Web Designs that are Tablet Friendly

Now that you have been able to develop an effective web design to suit the needs of your internet users who access your portal from PCs as well as smart phones, it is time to move and take into consideration another growing group of internet users.

The introduction of 3G technology into the internet and telecommunication space has given rise to the use of Tablets as a convenient medium of connecting with people and brands on the web. With major players like Apple, Amazon, Samsung and even Blackberry entering the tablet space, tablets have become the “must have” gadget of recent times.

One cannot ignore the fact that tablets are playing an influential role in new age web designs, and you haven’t considered it an option yet, then now is the time to start, before it is too late.

Most tablets that have been released thus far, offer touch driven interfaces and Vancouver web design experts consider that the first and foremost factor to consider while designing a tablet friendly web page.

Developing a design that is friendly to the finger:

While tablet and gadget developers are working towards creating a much for precise interface in touch technology, the fact remains that as off today, the finger is yet not as precise as the mouse or finger pad controlled cursor on your PC. For the very same reason, one needs to put in elements and navigational buttons on the web pages assuming that many of the “clickers” will be using their tablets to access those links. They should be large enough to the extent that they enhance precision when clicked on and yet don’t compromise on the aesthetics of the overall web design.

Do I need to Build an Application?

It is not appropriate for every website on the internet to create a parallel application for the users of Apple and Android based tablets. Doing that may in fact work against you at times by cutting down the number of visitors that you would get by traffic driven by those who just chanced upon you website. In fact, instead of forcing your customer to use your application, all you have to do is make sure that the key elements in terms of navigation and tablet friendly and can be effectively put to you with the help of a finger or a mouse.

A major thing to keep in mind while creating a tablet friendly web design is not to get carried away and only create a website that is iPad friendly. Even though they may be the market leaders in the tablet space, there are a number of other tablet interfaces that are almost equally popular and you also want to retain them. All in all, the best part is that a tablet friendly webpage is not as challenging as creating one for a smart-phone. Simple changes can do the trick.
