Things to Consider for Successful Website Design

Why do we need a website? A website in this era of cut throat competition is the veritable tool to advertise about the product and also to test the possibility of converting a potential visitor into a regular buyer of the product from the website. This being the premise, the operative part in entering into the cyber world is the fact that the website design should be attractive. After all when a customer is surfing the web, it is the design that provides him the window shopping view of the parachute, and if the display in the window is not attractive then the customer would not think twice and click the mouse to go to another website.

So when one is venturing into the area of cyber world particular care has to be taken to see that the web design is perfect. First and foremost attention that has to be paid in designing a website is that it should be clutter free and should not be too much loaded with information. The front page of the website should not be such that it should deter the customer from entering into the website. In the web design the second aspect that has to be looked into in detail in the process of navigation. There should be a seamless link from one part of the website top another and the links if they have placed on the website should not be broken, or the link should not give the message that the site is under construction.

A second important aspect of web design is the information about the product or the service on offer. One should not fudge the facts and efforts should be made as a part of the website design process that progress associated with the product or the service gets uploaded continuously.

AS a natural corollary as a part of website design one has to think about and give particular attention to backup services i.e. when you are awarding the contract for website design you should see to it that there is an in built component in the contract specifying that updation services on the website would also form a part of the contract. You should specify the time frame up to which the updation services for the website be provided by the team that has been awarded the contract for website design. Website design also has to factor in testimonials and the customer feedback form.

Whenever a first time customer visits your website you should have the option of creating a pop up window which should invite the customer to either enter a survey on the website why he has visited the website, or to share his email address so that he could be provided detailed information and the product and services on offer. It all is a question of catching the eyeballs and to catch the eyeballs the website design has to play a very important role.

As a part of the website design process one should see to it that contact us menu is given a place of importance and it should not be consigned in some corner. If you are not given a place of prominence to “contact us” on your website it means you are not coming clean about the product and services on offer. Therefore as a part of the website design contact us should be underlined, and names and numbers along with email addresses of important persons of the company must be shared.
