Goa is a beautiful state and a traveler’s paradise in India. Gorgeous coastal beauty, excellent traditions & cultures, splendid historicity and well-enhanced travel facilities make it a hot favorite among vacationers. Read on to know some more about this beautiful state.

It wouldn’t be exaggerated if you say Goa a pristine paradise on earth. Its magical shoreline looks like a piece of heaven that never fails to impress nature lovers. Magnificent collection of age-old monuments and superbly built places of worship give the state an aesthetic look, while captivating arts & cultures give the visitors and locals alike a sheer pleasure. Take a package tour to this gorgeous state, and collect memories to cherish forever.

Goa is the smallest state in India nestled on country’s western shoreline. A former Portuguese colony, this tiny state is spread over 3,700 sqkm with a population around 1.5 million. Owing to its splendid tropical beauty and world-class modern developments, Goa has become a premium holiday destination in India, and attracts around 2.5 million travelers annually, both domestic and foreign tourists.

Being isolated from the rest of India for more than 450 years during Portuguese colonial rule, Goa looks quite different to the rest states of country. Not just the architectures and history, but also the cuisines and cultures in Goa have largely been influenced by Portuguese, which is interesting to explore. Population in the state is a mix-up of Hindus (65%) and Roman Catholics (24%). However, a small community of Muslims and many Indians from other states also live in Goa with peace and harmony. Even after a multicultural population, Goa has been considered one of the most peaceful states in India.

Goa claims to be ‘half urban’, and has surprisingly a large number of villages. Most of Goa population live in these villages and travel to cities for work. Life in Goa villages is tough and slow, but they are gaining more and more attention nowadays with travelers taking interest to them. Since they hold both charm and character, many travelers visit them to relax and enjoy. The villages tend to be neat and clean with warm and friendly people, and are really worth visiting if you’re seeking peaceful beauty of nature. Cities in Goa are small in size, but they boast a high quality of lifestyle with almost all amenities of modern life. Perhaps no Goan city has a population over 100,000. Panaji (the capital), Margao, Vasco Da Gama and Old Goa are some main cities in the state, which are both scenic and well-developing today.

Beaches in Goa are the major attraction for travelers. They are surprisingly beautiful and boast wonderful water sports. Goa beaches are situated in an unbreakable stretch from North to South Goa. Some most visited Goa beaches include Agonda, Anjuna, Calangute, Candolim, Colva and Dona Paula. Goa is open for travelers all through year; however the best time to plan a Goa trip is between November and March. The local language in state is Konkani, but you may also find a large number of people speaking Hindi, English and Marathi. Being a renowned tourist spot, Goa features high quality of transportation and well-improved lodging facilities. One can easily plan a Goa holiday buying a suitable Goa tour package online.
