Changes are quite slow in the ThinkPad T series. However, when it does, it usually worth waiting for. The Lenovo ThinkPad T420 is yet another powerful laptop introduced by Lenovo. It has pretty similar look like its predecessor ThinkPad T410. However, the impressive changes which have been made under its hood make it even better than ThinkPad T410.
The laptop is powered by Intel’s Sandy Bridge processor platform, which helps in giving better performance than ThinkPad T 410. It has stellar battery, improved Lenovo utility and unique video conferencing ability, which makes it much better than its predecessors.
Design
Name itself suggests its design. From outside the laptop somehow look similar to its predecessors, with squared off and matte black color design. Making the changes in classic is little offensive, but there are others who are coming up with the innovative ad impressive design such as HP’s Envy 14.
ThinkPad T42 lacks curb appeal. However, its impressive internal design could compensate this absence. The black chassis is made of magnesium alloy, which provide strength with less weight. The laptop weighs about 4.8 pounds, which has a thickness of about 1.2 inches. Although, it look similar to T410 but it isn’t a carbon copy. Lenovo ThinkPad T420 has LCD screen of 14 inches against 14.1 in its predecessor.
Performance
Lenovo ThinkPad T420 is based on Intel’s Sandy Bridge architecture, giving it the power to deliver enough processing speed for multi tasking. It is powered by Intel Core i5-252M processor, which runs at with 2.5 GHz and smoking i7 quad core processor at the top end. The laptop comes with 4 GB of RAM memory, which can be further extended up-to 8GB. The laptop is pretty powerful and offers a fast performance. It perfectly support the light gaming, however it lacks its performance for high performance demanding games. Despite of the small sized battery, it delivers a pretty impressive and constant power of 7 hours and 32 minutes.

Lenovo ThinkPad T420 costs around $749 to $1139 and it is comes with 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5-252M processor. It comes with installed Hard Drive, which has the capacity of 500 GB and run with the speed of 5,400 rpm. 4GB of RAM memory, with 1,333MHz gives an enough space for program installation and high performance. The video drive is powerd by Nvidia NVS 4200M / Intel HD 3000 (Optimus), which delivers a good video resolution. The laptop has dimensions of 13.4 x9 x1.2 inches and weighs about 5.2 to 6.2 pounds.
