LCD TVs come in an extensive range of sizes from 19-inch to 60-inch. Picking the apt LCD screen size can be a tiring exercise.

Whenever you’re looking to buy a LCD TV, it’s predictable that the larger displays will grab your attention first. When two LCDs are placed side by side, who would like a 40-inch whilst there’s a 60-inch soaring over it? It’s a normal tendency to opt for a great looking display. But most of the time people are puzzled about how big the LCD screen should precisely be?

So, how do you elect the appropriate LCD display size?

Selection of a LCD TV screen size mostly depends on various aspects like –

1. Size of the room – Start by measuring the area of the room where the LCD will be placed. The dimensions are vital factors while determining the LCD screen size. LCD TV is heavy, bulky and fragile. For example, if you’ve a 40in LCD TV, don’t sit more than 120in away. Small to mid-sized screens can be viewed conveniently from a range of 10-15ft. 3. Viewing Angle – Also consider the angle from where you will be watching the TV. You wouldn’t want to crane your neck or exhaust your eyes while watching the action on screen. For optimal viewing experience, the LCD screen should be placed in such a way that it directly faces the site from where you'll most frequently be watching the TV.

4. Screen height – While watching your favorite program you wouldn’t want to constantly look slightly up or down, would you? So while placing it, set it at a height and align the screen with your like of vision/sitting arrangement. Sitting in your favorite spot with the TV screen in front of you, you should be able to see the on-screen action without any strain on your eyes or neck.

Tip - Small 15 to 19-inch screens are most suitable for the kitchen or office use. Mid range 26 to 37-inch screens serve well for the bedrooms or small living rooms. While 40 inches or larger is an excellent choice for most homes.
