Almost all jobs or work have some degree of danger and risks to the workers. Hence, it is crucial for workers at physically high work places to undergo the necessary training courses which emphasizes on safety.

Training Courses

There are many safety training courses which are suitable for working at height environments. The market offers many accredited training centers with industrial approved courses such as the PASMA, IPAF and CISRS safety courses.

Under PASMA accreditation, there are tower training courses, low level access and advanced guardrail courses which take only half a day to a full day to understand the safety aspects in these work at height environment operations.

IPAF also offers good working at height safety training programs; they include the popular Operator certificate and Demonstrator certificate as well as the Safety Harness certificate. These certificates are only half day to a full day to instruct candidates of the right safety measures during work at height environments.

IPAF also has advanced safety courses to fulfill the stringent safety and health regulations such as MEWPS for Managers and Instructor certificate courses. The IPAF Instructor course is 10 days long and only 4 candidates are allowed at every session. This is a crucial course for those who want to move up the ladder in the work at height industries. They would be trained to identify the types of MEWPS and safety measures while equipped with the latest health and safety legislation information to inspect all types of towers.

CISRS is another highly recognized safety training leader in the work at height industries. They offer a lot of working at height safety training courses that cater to the needs of the relevant industries especially where scaffolding works is concerned.

CISRS offers basic scaffolding courses in two parts; each part takes 10 days with a maximum of 12 candidates. These courses would teach candidates the safety aspects of scaffolding while emphasizing the safety and health legislation of the local authorities. The dangers and risks that lurk around scaffolding works would be identified to help candidates at their work to improve productivity and work results.

Other courses

Besides these more popular courses on safety, there are also Ladder, Harness, Fall arrest equipment and Forklift courses which have safety as the main focus.

First Aid would be part of any safety training courses to equip the workers and all parties in handling any injury which may happen in the workplace.
