The importance of CD Printing
Author: hostarticles | Posted: 06.12.2011The importance of CD printing cannot be underestimated these days. Although you may be one of the many people who have switched to listening to your favourite records by downloading MP3 files, there are still a lot of us who still like to buy CDs.
Consequently the disc-based music market is still a major player. CD printing is therefore still a fundamental component of the commercial music scene. Here is some need to know information about why this is the case:
CD printing is an integral part of the music packaging process. Decorative artwork has long been a large part of album production in particular. An album cover and sleeve of some description (mainly in the form of a printed booklet these days) is a relatively big part of it all. For instance imagine the Beatles’ album Abbey Road without that famous image at the pelican crossing adorning the front, or any of those Pink Floyd offerings without the eye catching cover artwork.
CD printing helps give a disc and its casing lots more character. CD printing also includes the graphics on the disc itself, which like the cover and sleeve can range from very simple single-colour designs to amazing pictures of magnificent photographs.
With the challenges to the Compact Disc being posed by the iPod and digital download industry it is certainly as important as ever before that things like CD printing are done well. Many of those who have remained loyal to hard copies of albums and singles will probably argue that part of the appeal of buying a disc is the joy of unwrapping something tangible and admiring the artwork.
Therefore although it is not as important as the music itself CD printing plays an important role in creating a truly memorable CD.
