Fisherman’s Tavern: Open since 1827 and located on the eastern edge of Dundee, this hotel offers award winning, high-quality real ale and wine, along with their famous fresh seafood. With an ideal location on the seafront esplanade, visitors to Dundee hotels can stroll in after walking on the beach. Meals are served from 12pm to 8pm every day of the week. Be sure to arrive around 9 or 10 in the evening to watch locals performing live music onstage.

The Doghouse: This eclectic location offers live performances ranging from spoken word and bands, to performances, and open mic nights. A variety of food is offered including vegetarian cuisine, burgers, and fish and chips. The venue can hold up to 400 people and can become quite crowded if a popular artist is playing. A bit “rough around the edges”; The Doghouse will likely be better suited to a younger crowd, though patrons of all ages can be found here.

The Fort Hotel: Located 15 minutes from Dundee city centre, the hotel is known for its vibrant atmosphere. It offers entertainment such as quiz nights, DJs, karaoke, and live music.

Drouthy’s: Popular with the student population, the pub offers music in the bar and basement clubs including genres such as rock, jazz, big band, and even acoustic sets. Known as a no-frills hangout, it remains popular for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Dundee Rep Theatre: For those looking for an entertaining, though not necessarily partying atmosphere, the theatre offers performances Monday through Saturday, usually starting around 7:30 or 8pm. All manner of presentation can be found ranging from plays, traditional and modern dance, and Broadway. Visitors to Dundee hotels should call in advance to find out what is offered during their stay.
