Learn About the Many Uses of a Wireless Headset

Among the most important features in plantronics headsets is noise cancellation. That is a technology that can eliminate a large amount of background noise. This makes a more pleasant experience for any caller and customer when listening to a representative. Keep in mind that this kind of technology does not eliminate all noise like kids crying or a dog barking. That means a home based worker will still need to have a quiet place where those sounds can not be heard.
Many people have difficulty hearing someone's words if there is a lot of background noise including some that have hearing problems. This is why having noise cancellation technology can be quite helpful.
Wireless
An excellent feature of some plantronics headsets is wireless communications. When used with an office phone, it is possible to step away from the desk without getting completely out of the action. This can be a huge advantage for those who are playing multi-player video games where it is important to keep in constant connection with other players. It is also possible to walk down a long hallway in some cases to get documents from a fax machine or for any other purpose.
The only thing to watch out for when purchasing a wireless headset will be the sound quality. Some wireless headsets don't perform well and may drop the connection or introduce annoying echoes. Those who are looking for the best quality of sound possible might want to keep using the wired headsets, but that's getting increasingly unnecessary. That is why you should try them and to read user reviews prior to purchasing a headset.
Corded
There's a good reason to buy a corded headset such as those from the plantronics headsets lineup. A corded unit is ideal when sound and microphone quality must be high. There is always going to be a wireless unit that will provide the same quality, but right now they will be prohibitively expensive. That is why many should consider a corded unit.
Many of these headsets are ergonomically sound and safe for the office environment. These corded headsets will also be designed to be used with most phone systems using the modular jack. Those who are using a Cisco telephone system may wish to look at headsets which are specially engineered for that phone system instead.
Amplifier
A great feature to include when selecting plantronics headsets is an amplifier. This is a device that improves the sound from the telephone handset so that the sound is crisp and clear. This is a good way to boost a system that is performing poorly with lousy sound reproduction.
An amplifier is a required part of the purchase if a telephone doesn't already have a modular telephone headset jack. This may be the case with older phone systems when it's not the right time to replace the whole telephone system or even the phone. This means that an amplifier is a great inexpensive solution for getting the best sound quality on calls.
