South Tyrol - a Must Visit Place
This planet is full of places, which are ideal for relaxation and spending some quality vacations and South Tyrol, also known as Alto Adige is one of them. When most of the people are discussing issues like global warming and recession, the romantic ski areas and number of historical castles and churches in this beautiful northern Italy province are waiting for the tourists to explore them. Travelers can easily approach to this place as there are no restrictions between countries bounded in Schengen agreement.
This autonomous Italian province was remained a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire but after the World War I, it was yielded to Italy and even today one can clearly noticed that the road signs are written in both German and Italian. For instance, Bolzano, the regional capital, is pronounced as Bozen in German. Alto Adige is blessed with some of the most expensive ski resorts and its mountains are covered with dense snow in winters while the summers see some high temperatures as well.
Besides having breathtaking views, this place is famous for its food as well. Some of the highly renowned chefs are found in this area. Further, this place is popular for its festivals and some of them are All Saint’s Day, Whit Monday, Three Kings Day, Liberation Day and St. Stephen Day. Brixen, Klausen, Sterzing, Meran, Bolzano and Neumarkt are the prominent cities and popular tourist destinations in South Tyrol. This place is well connected with the neighboring areas and other main cities of the region and one can easily reach here by plane, train, bus or even by car.
