How Andrew Uhm Got to the Top

Andrew Uhm has become a symbol of hope for youngsters in his country. Most of us often think that success begets success and the top jobs are only for the elite. But Andrew Uhm has changed these perceptions today. He has shown that the sky can be the limit if you are dedicated enough.

Born to uneducated laborers, Andrew went to the neighborhood school. He loved school and all that he learnt there. It opened an altogether new world for him. Soon his parents felt that they needed another earning hand and pulled him out of school. He was put to work in a nearby shop as a helper. Andrew begged to be sent to school and his father finally relented. He could go to school if he wanted it that badly, but would have to work after that. So he would go to school, work in the shop in the evening and study at night.

Seeing his dedication, his teacher, David Weremay, encouraged him to try for college. This was something he had never even dared to think of. He hesitated, knowing his poor parents would never be able to bear the expense. But David Weremay saw a potential in him that even he was not fully aware of. He offered to guide him and helped him prepare free of cost. But a college education is expensive and Andrew could not hope to pay for it with his earnings. He thought his dream could never be fulfilled.

With his teacher's help, Andrew got a scholarship which would cover the cost of his college education, yet there were additional expenses to be covered such as traveling, proper clothes and so on. Logan Wang, his employer, stepped forward to help pay for these. Andrew Uhm went on to study business administration and picked up a plum job at campus selection itself.

Andrew Uhm has shown that life favors only those who are willing to work for their dreams. There are countless number of children in this world whose potential goes unrecognized. But new doors will open for those who are willing to fight against their circumstances.
